Accessibility
ScholarOut should work for every student. We're committed to making the platform usable by people of all abilities, and we treat accessibility barriers as bugs to fix, not suggestions to consider.
What we do
- Semantic, keyboard-navigable pages that work with screen readers
- Readable type and strong colour contrast across the site
- Alt text on meaningful images
- Forms with clear labels and error messages
- Reduced-motion support — interface animations are disabled for users who prefer reduced motion
- No tracking or ad scripts that interfere with assistive technology
Our standard
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, consistent with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). Accessibility is ongoing work, and we know we won't always get it right the first time.
Tell us what's hard to use
If something on ScholarOut is difficult for you to use, contact us through the Contact Us page with the subject line "Accessibility" and we'll prioritise fixing it.
