Community Guidelines
ScholarOut works because students treat it — and each other — seriously. These guidelines keep it that way. They apply to every profile, video, message and campaign on the platform.
The rules
- Be honest. Only list achievements, roles, skills and experiences that are real. A profile built on exaggeration helps no one — and misleading scholarship campaigns are removed.
- Be respectful. No bullying, harassment, hate, discrimination or humiliation — ever, toward anyone.
- Keep it appropriate. No explicit, violent or adult content. Remember: this is a professional profile that teachers, employers and admissions teams may read.
- Protect privacy. Don't post anyone else's personal information — including other students' — and don't share your own contact details publicly.
- No spam, scams or solicitation. Don't use ScholarOut to sell, advertise or pressure other students.
- No impersonation. Your profile must be you, under your real name.
Children's safety comes first
ScholarOut has zero tolerance for any content or behaviour that sexualizes, exploits or endangers a minor. Any such content is removed immediately, the account is terminated, and we report to the appropriate authorities — including Cybertip.ca in Canada — where required by law.
What happens when rules are broken
Reports are read and acted on by a person. Depending on severity, we may remove content, restrict accounts or remove a student from the platform. For students under 16, serious concerns may also be shared with their parent or guardian. Where the law requires it, we involve authorities.
Help us keep it clean
See something that breaks these rules? Report it through our Report an Issue page. Every report is read.
