About Us
Our Team
We are a small team of parents, builders and lifelong learners who have believed in this idea for more than a decade.
Who we are
We are not a large company with a wall of job titles. We are a small team of parents and builders who have been circling the same idea since 2012, when we started Scolaris, a student scholarship crowdfunding platform. The technology and our own readiness were not right yet, so we closed it — but the idea never went away. In 2026 it came back as ScholarOut: a student profile network that records what a young person does in the classroom and outside it, and helps them find what comes next.
Why this matters to us
As parents, we watch our children work hard at things that never make it into a report card: the part they played in the school play, the shift they covered at work, the instrument they practised for years, the award they won in a subject nobody asked them about again. Then we watch that same effort disappear into a feed built to be scrolled past. That gap is what keeps us here. We wanted a place that treats a child's effort with the same care we would give it at our own dinner table — something that remembers, and can be handed forward.
Why we are excited to build it
We are building ScholarOut for our own children, and that is exactly why we are building it for everyone else's too. A profile that helps one family is a keepsake; a profile that helps a student in Toronto, Lagos, Mumbai or São Paulo is something bigger. We are excited because the work in front of us is the kind worth doing: making it normal for a twelve-year-old to be proud of what they have already done, for a parent to trust where it is stored, and for a teacher, coach or professor to see a whole student rather than a single grade.
What we promise while you are here
We are early, we are a small team, and we would rather move carefully than move quickly with children's information. Parent approval, privacy and safety are decisions we make every week, not a page we wrote once. We will introduce the people behind ScholarOut here properly as the team grows. Until then, the honest answer is that you are meeting the founders — and the standard we are holding ourselves to is the one we would set for our own kids.
